Our Top Restaurant Picks in Chastain Park

Amber RandhawaWhat's Happening Around Atlanta

Whether you’re finishing up a round of golf at the Chastain Park Golf Course, or grabbing a bite to eat before taking in a concert at the State Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park, a Chastain Park outing isn’t complete without a stop by one of the area’s top restaurants. We’ve put together a list of our favorites places to grab a quick lunch, indulge in a leisurely brunch, or celebrate a date night with a special someone.

10 Degrees South

Talk about leading the charge – when 10 Degrees South opened in 1998, it was the first South African restaurant to open in the nation! If you aren’t familiar with the cuisine, South African dishes are a fusion of Indian, Portuguese, Dutch and Mediterranean flavors, an exciting and delicious mix.

10 Degrees South
Where: 4183 Roswell Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Food Favorites: If you’re new to South African cuisine, order the Cape Kingklip or Beef Bobotie to get an authentic representation of the flavors.

Buttermilk Kitchen

Chastain Park’s best breakfast may just be found at Buttermilk Kitchen, where the fried chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits will make you think you’re visiting a beloved aunt’s country kitchen. Usually open for breakfast and lunch only, we love their monthly BYOB Fried Chicken Dinner nights

Buttermilk Kitchen
Where: 4225 Roswell Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Food Favorites: Order a Ray’s Waffle Burger and you’ll treat yourself AND they’ll make a donation to a local pet therapy organization.

Hal’s on Old Ivy

Walking into Hal’s is like stepping back in time. This old-school steakhouse has a distinct throwback vibe, from the cigar-smoky bar area with frequent live music to the romantically lit dining room. Service is attentive and waitstaff have knowledgeable wine recommendations for any entree ordered. As expected, the steaks are amazing, but the side dishes and desserts are top notch as well.

Hal’s on Old Ivy
Where: 30 Old Ivy Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Food Favorites: We think the 12oz filet is one of the best steaks in the city, but Hal’s Chopped Salad and the Osso Bucco are also menu highlights.

Horseradish Grill

The Horseradish Grill started as a country store in front of a 200-acre farm and orchard, and is now known as Atlanta’s oldest restaurant in continuous operation. What started as a quick sandwich spot mainly frequented by golfers has become an overall favorite for refined Southern cuisine. The atmosphere is upscale, yet the menu is approachable and family friendly.

Horseradish Grill
Where: 4320 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30342
Food Favorites: Start with the Shrimp and Crabmeat Hushpuppies then finish with the Kentucky Oatmeal Spice Cake. And don’t forget to come for brunch and try the Chicken Biscuit or Pulled Chicken Hash.
