Our Midtown Dining Favorites!

Amber RandhawaWhat's Happening Around Atlanta

Midtown Atlanta is known as a busy commercial district, home to some of the biggest names in the Atlanta business scene, and as a vibrant and thriving arts district. In this small section of the city you’ll find the High Museum of Art, the Fabulous Fox Theatre, and the Center for Puppetry Arts, along with countless smaller galleries and theaters. Mixed in with all of these eclectic venues and high-rise office buildings are some of Atlanta’s best restaurants. It was a daunting task, but we’ve compiled a list of some of our absolute favorite local Midtown spots.

Campagnolo

With a casual environment and rustic, regional Mediterranean menu, Campagnolo is perfect for a date night, special occasion, or a simple dinner out. Wednesday nights feature 1/2 price wine, while Saturday and Sunday there’s live music in the bar, and every night the patio is a favorite place to connect with friends and neighbors.

Campagnolo
Where: 980 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
Our Suggestions: The Lasagna Matta and Mushroom Pasta are our favorites, but all the pastas are delightfully fresh and flavorful!

The Lawrence

If you’re in search of contemporary Southern classics and comfort food in a stylish setting, The Lawrence is exactly where you want to be. As an added bonus, the cocktail menu is inventive with recipes inspired by classic works of literature – we love the Honey Cardamom Paloma and Lizzie Bennett & Mr. Darcy.

The Lawrence
Where: 905 Juniper Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
Our Suggestions: The Larry Burger is a great choice for lunch or dinner, but our favorite is the chicken and red velvet waffles featured on the weekend brunch menu.

MetroFresh

Tucked into a corner of the Midtown Promenade shopping center, MetroFresh is a local favorite for quick weekday breakfasts and business lunches, leisurely Sunday hangouts over brunch, and grab-and-go carryout.  The chefs use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and the globally-inspired menu is both creative, delicious AND healthy.

MetroFresh
Where: 931 Monroe Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Our Suggestions: Menu selections change daily, so we suggest you stop by early and often! The rotating soups are the best in town, as are the Smoked Gouda Grits on the Rockstar Breakfast menu.

Nan Thai

This award-winning, upscale spot has been a staple of the Atlanta international gourmet scene since 1997. The flavors and aromas at Nan are rivaled only by the beautiful presentation and artistry of each dish. The selection of crafted-in-house cocktails are equally as exquisite as the food – we suggest the Mango Mai Tai as a sweet complement to a spicy entree.

Nan Thai
Where: 1350 Spring Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30309
Our Suggestions: Start with the Satay Kai and Tom Kha Kung Soup, but save room for one of the chef’s specialities like Moo Choo Chee (pork in red curry with lime)

Tabla

Tabla features all your traditional Indian favorites, along with unexpected and creative dishes inspired by Asian spices and flavors. The bar menu is also a delight, with hand-crafted cocktails inspired by Indian spice infused liqueur, like the Chai Old Fashioned and the non-alcoholic Masala Lime Soda.

Tabla
Where: 77 12th Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
Our Suggestions: Start with the Lassoni Cauliflower (in fact, you’ll never believe you’re eating cauliflower) then follow up with any of the curries – they are all to die for!
